About the position

We’re looking for a structured and analytical Business Controller to join our finance and operations team as we continue to expand our U.S. operations. This role will be responsible for business controlling, financial reporting, and tax coordination for our U.S. subsidiary – taking ownership of key financial workflows currently split between our Finance Controller, CFO, and external advisors.

You will also be responsible for our BI platform and reporting structure in QlikSense, ensuring insights and data are easily accessible across the organization. You’ll report directly to our CFO and be based at our Stockholm HQ.

Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Controlling for the U.S. entity

• Take full responsibility for financial follow-up and business controlling for our U.S. subsidiary, including budgeting and monthly reporting
• Manage reporting on P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet, ensuring a clear and accurate picture of the U.S. business
• Drive and improve monthly inventory and COGS reporting in collaboration with our external accounting partner in New York (QuickBooks)
• Own and streamline intercompany transactions and reconciliations between HQ and the U.S. entity
• Coordinate invoice approval and payment flows through Ramp

Tax coordination

• Follow up on U.S. sales tax compliance and GST/PST in Canada via our Avalara platform, in close collaboration with the CFO
• Monitor nexus registration status and help ensure correct product tax classification and filings
• Collaborate with our U.S. accounting partner, operations team, and external sales tax advisor to ensure timely and accurate filings

BI & performance reporting

• Take full ownership of our BI platform, QlikSense, and all related dashboards and data structures
• Create, maintain, and improve reporting that helps teams and leadership make informed decisions
• Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and intuitive dashboards

We believe that you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in in-house finance or business controlling, preferably in an international company with exposure to U.S. operations
• A background in retail or consumer goods
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and QlikSense
• Strong Excel and powerpoint skills and an analytical, detail-oriented mindset
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• The ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
